Shaylah McClymont (ACT) was elected NRC Chair 2023-24 at the November 2022 NRC Remote meeting. The 2023 NRC Team includes Sam De Rota (Vice Chair), Meg Gallagher (Secretary), Steph Cowling (Environment & Sustainability Officer) and Liam Gallagher (Marketing & Public Relations Officer). The Treasurer (Luke Brydon) and Training & Development Officer (Zac Geddes) were appointed by the NRC at a Remote meeting in October 2023, though the Diversity & Inclusion Officer role is currently vacant (chat to Shaylah if interested). 

All roles for 2024 (except Chair) were declared open for election in September, with successful nominees to take office at the conclusion of NRC Conference in Jan 2024. Four roles remain unfilled after the NRC Remote meeting in Nov 2023, so will be elected at Conference (Secretary, Diversity & Inclusion Officer, Marketing & Public Relations Officer, and Training & Development Officer).

Executive positions (24 months):
Chair - National Rover Council

This role leads the National Rover Council Executive and is the Chair of the National Rover Council.  For more information, please read the full duty statement.

In July 2022 the NRC voted to change the Chair election process, so a Chair Elect is voted upon at the final NRC Remote meeting before the NRC Conference, so they have time to shadow the current Chair and get up to speed with the role.

Nominations opened in September 2022 and closed 13 November, for election at the NRC Remote meeting in November 2022, with Shaylah McClymont from the ACT elected as NRC Chair until January 2025.

Executive positions (12 months):
Vice Chair - National Rover Council

Sam De Rota from ACT was elected as the 2023 Vice Chair at NRC Conference 2023 (Sam was NRC Secretary in 2020), while Max Manson from QLD was elected in Nov 2023 to be the Vice Chair for 2024.

Secretary - National Rover Council

Meg Gallagher from WA (currently in Victoria) was re-elected for a second term at NRC Conference 2023. Nominees for the 2024 Secretary are now open, and must be submitted by 9am AEDT on Sunday 14 January.

Treasurer - National Rover Council

Luke Brydon from TAS was appointed by the NRC in October 2023, and then re-elected to the role for 2024 at the November 2023 NRC Remote meeting.

Environment & Sustainability Officer - National Rover Council

Steph Cowling from NSW was re-elected for a second term at NRC Conference 2023, and Ben Brice from SA was elected in Nov 2023 to take on the role in 2024. 

Marketing & Public Relations Officer - National Rover Council

Liam Gallagher from WA was elected for a second term at an NRC Remote meeting in early 2023 (Liam previously held the role in 2021). Nominees for the 2024 Marketing and Public Relations Development Officer are are now open, and must be submitted by 9am AEDT on Sunday 14 January.

Training & Development Officer - National Rover Council

Zac Geddes from VIC was appointed to the role by the NRC in October 2023. Nominees for the 2024 Training and Development Officer are are now open, and must be submitted by 9am AEDT on Sunday 14 January.
